Biometric Screening
Biometric Screening does not replace the recommended annual physical exam that should be done by your healthcare provider and is not used to diagnose disease. But it does; however, give a nice glance of your health status either in between visits or when you don’t currently have access to a health care provider. It is also useful for the monitoring process (while in a weight loss program, after starting new health habits and after starting new medications). Biometric screening may also include wellness counseling and education, risk assessments, and exercise programs.

A biometric screening usually only takes 15 to 20 minutes and includes:
-
Height
-
Weight
-
Body mass index (BMI)
-
Body Fat and Muscle %
-
Blood pressure
-
Blood cholesterol
-
Glucose

The goal of a biometric screening is to give a snapshot of your health and alert you to any risk factors or changes in your health status. Your results will be provided on the spot along with a comprehensive review by the health coach. If there are any identified areas of serious concern, you will be referred to your PCP or a medical specialist as deemed necessary.
